Investment in the arts and creativity is an investment in Wisconsin's future.  Arts Day 2019 celebrates the diversity and variety of Wisconsin’s entrepreneurial arts and creative sector, demonstrates the ways in which creativity revitalizes communities across the state, and shares those stories with representatives and decision-makers.

Activists come to Arts Day from Superior to Kenosha and hundreds of other communities around the state.   With a new adminstration, new and returning legislators, and the sttae budget season upon us, we expect a great turnout in 2019 and exciting policy and program issues for discussion and action.

We are thrilled that incoming Secretary of the Department of Tourism Sara Meaney, and the new Wisconsin Poet Laureate Margaret Rozga (learn more about Margaret here), are featured speakers at Arts Day.  In addition, we're pleased to welcome artist Faye Willems of DePere as the 2019 Arts Day Artist-in-Residence, courtesy of VSA Wisconsin.

And we're pleased to add a special event to Arts Day: the Assembly Committee on Community Development, chaired by Rep. Scott Allen (R-Waukesha), will host its first informational public hearing on The Influence of the Arts on Community Development, with invited speakers from the worlds of creative, economic, community, downtown, and workforce development, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, in Room 412 East (Joint Finance Committee hearingroom) at the State Capitol.  All Arts Day attendees are invited to observe the hearing.

Arts Day 2019 activities include:

  • Constituent meetings with representatives

  • Arts showcases and exhibits at the Overture Center

  • Roundtable discussions on economic and community development through the arts and creativity, arts education, and quality of life initiatives involving the arts

  • Networking, learning, friend-making, inspiration!

In addition, we hope you'll attend the Wisconsin Creative Summit on creative placemaking, happening the day before Arts Day at the Overture Center.  Expand and enhance your trip to Madison with this pre-Arts Day networking, learning, and idea-sharing conference.

Arts Day is made possible thanks to very generous sponsors from across the state.

Arts Day registration fee is $40 per person, with discounts for additional attendees from the same organization or business.  Use PayPal to pay via PayPal or credit card, or send a check, to complete your registration.
