The theme of the Summits, addressed in panel discussions and conversation, is “creative placemaking.” This phase has been spreading like wildfire in the arts sector and beyond in recent months, describing creating vibrant, livable communities through the arts, culture and creativity. Development models and strategies, partnerships and collaborations, entrepreneurial opportunities – all are components of the “creative placemaking” process.
Arts Wisconsin, the premier advocacy, service and development organization for the arts, arts education and creative economy statewide, will work with local co-host organizations and advocates to bring Wisconsin’s young arts leaders to tell their stories and talk about the issues and hot topics in the arts, community and creative economy that they care about.
These events are free and open to the public – targeted to young leaders (35 and under) in the arts! Each Conversation will feature:
• Lots of networking and conversation
• Panel and roundtable discussions about trends and issues of importance
to the arts, arts education and creative economy and to Wisconsin, focusing
on “creative placemaking” models and ideas.
• Food and drink to help the conversation and the learning flow.
In 2011, Creative Conversations are partnering with the Arts Action Fund and statewide organizations to generate increased energy around the grassroots movement to elevate the profile of the arts in America. Creative Conversation participants will automatically become Arts Action Fund members and members of Arts Wisconsin’s Legislative Action Center, to receive periodic advocacy updates and information by email.
