Comments - I enjoy opportunities to experience the arts, concerts, plays and seeing the work of local artists. We are fortunate to have numerous art activities and artists living in our area communities.

Question #2
I believe given our rich interest and involvement by artists and residents in our region, we have tremendous opportunities in developing and expanding the arts. Active, local artist organizations like CAB along with premier art centers like the Phipps Center, Mabel Tainter Theater and the Northern Lakes Center for the Arts, provide a good foundation. I believe partnering with artists and organizations, schools, chambers and other community organizations are critical to fostering arts in helping to grow tourism.

Question #3
I would consider supporting within the constraints of the budget.

Question #4
I believe the arts are an important component in providing a quality, well-rounded education. Additionally, while the global economy will value new technological skills for success, creativity complements these skills in a fashion that can help us succeed.

Question #5

Question #2
Small business is the backbone of our economy, and the arts are at the core of many small businesses in the region. One of the biggest challenges facing small business owners like artists is health care coverage. Supporting small business owners by making access to affordable health care a priority will enable the artists of the region to continue their valuable work, and will also attract new artists to Wisconsin. In addition, we have many opportunities to work within schools to instill an appreciation for the arts and support artistic creativity in the next generation, helping to incorporate art as a cornerstone of our state and regional economy.

Question #3
I recognize the impoprtance of the arts in our future economy and would anticipate that the return on this investment would be high. As a State Senator I would need to see the evidence to confirm this and weigh this against other opportunities.

Question #4
The arts are an integral part of the overall education of all Wisconsin students. Art can and shoudl be incorporated into education of Wisconsin srudents.

Question #5
Yes.
