The project was focused on bringing students of all learning and physical abilities together to collaboratively produce art. Students in 4th and 5th grades worked with film-maker Susan Borri of Media Makers to learn multimedia techniques and document the project. The resulting abstracts have been exhibited at the Betty Brinn Children's Museum, Milwaukee Public Schools Administrative Building, the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities Self-Determination Conference, and at Emerson School. The project was a part of the Arts @ Large program, connecting arts to academics in an inclusive model for students and teachers in Wisconsin’s schools.

This is the reason you are coming to Arts day - to tell your story, and to ask them to support the 2010 Legislative Action Agenda and the Wisconsin Arts Board's New Economy Funding Initiative - a critical investment in the arts, arts education, and creative economy in their districts and statewide.
When meeting with your legislator, describe the impact of increased investment in the arts, arts education and creative economy in your community. The most important thing you can tell your legislator is that the state's investment makes a difference. Tell stories. Bring short, simple one page descriptions of your programs. Thank legislators for their support of the arts. (Click here for more action strategies on commucating with decision makers.)
