Are you looking for the skills and connections you need to make your life in the arts? Look no further - Arts Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Arts Board, in partnership with Springboard for the Arts, and local hosts around the state, are pleased to present these professional development workshops for Wisconsin and Upper Midwestern artists and creative entrepreneurs.

Professional arts consultants (who are artists themselves!) from Springboard for the Arts, based in St. Paul, MN, will lead the workshops with expert facilitation and information.

Get educated, and get connected, at these information-packed, user-friendly workshops!

Locations/dates/topics covered:
as of 4-6-09

  • Beloit, June 5-6, 2009, at the Beloit Fine Arts Incubator, 520 East Grand Avenue. Topics covered: Legal Considerations for Artists and Funding Your Work. Local host: Beloit Fine Arts Incubator

General agenda and format for the workshop:

• Friday, 6-8 pm: Participants will convene for information sharing/
community building/networking, with refreshments served, of course! This introduces the participants to each other, with information provided about Arts Wisconsin, Wisconsin Arts Board and Springboard for the Arts, and to preview the presentations for the next day.

• Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm: Two workshop components (specifically chosen for each workshop), plus a third facilitated discussion on a topic of concern to artists, such as digitizing portfolios and “monetizing” websites. Artists will be surveyed about these topics before the workshop weekend.

  • 9 am Registration, coffee, networking
  • 10 am – 12 noon Introductions/Session One
  • 12 noon – 1:30 pm lunch and artist crosstalk (lunch provided)
  • 1:30-3:30 pm Session Two
  • 3:30-5 pm Participant-chosen topic facilitated discussion, wrap-up of day

Fees and registration:
The cost is $50 per workshop - a real bargain for the information you receive! The fee includes all sessions and materials, and coffee, and Saturday lunch, and snacks.

Refunds will be made up to a week before the workshop start date, less a $10 administrative fee. We regret that we cannot make refunds within a week of the workshop start date.

For more information and to register, contact Anne Katz at Arts Wisconsin. Online registration will be available in the very near future!
