Wisconsin urges everyone who cares about Wisconsin's future to support
the Wisconsin Arts Board’s New
Economy Funding Initiative – an investment of $1 per capita for
the Arts Board, the state agency dedicated to culture, creativity, commerce
and community.
The New Economy Funding Initiative's three components:
- Support Nonprofit Arts and other sectors of Wisconsin’s
Creative Industries
• Partner with artists and arts and community organizations to deliver what the public values
• Expand to other sectors. Example: Film Wisconsin
• Better align State’s funding commitment with our citizens’ investments in programs and facilities.
• Outcome: Existing and future citizen needs will be met through increased investment in the arts. - Support Regional Economic
Development through the Arts
• Target: Regional Economic Development Organizations
• Projects:
o Inventory Creative Industries in region.
o Identify infrastructure needs.
o Develop or enhance infrastructure.
• Outcome: Move arts to core of regional economic development strategy. - Support Arts Education
• Target: Schools and Community Organizations
• To Develop Programs and Curriculum to Foster:
o Creativity in all its forms
o Critical thinking
o Problem solving
• Partner with Others to Showcase Models of Curriculum Integration & Project Based Learning
• Outcome: Help schools and community organizations to develop skills in learners necessary for the 21st century.
